I witnessed the dawn of November 2019 and vividly remember telling myself that I could write my review of the previous month’s walking within a matter of days… A fortnight has passed since! We’re halfway through another month that I’m keeping track off and it’s beyond time for me to catch up.

With the arrival of September, our thoughts often turn to that of autumn, a chill in the air and the final passing of a summer that probably wasn’t as wet or miserable as we might choose to remember.

First Walk with the Montane Yupik 50
Seven-days before ahead of the start of my South Downs Way journey, I loaded up my new fifty litre rucksack and heading up in to the Mendip Hills for a day walk. This would be my first outing with the Montane Yupik 50. An opportunity to see it it really fits and how comfortable I would be, carrying my current load. Meeting the Outdoor Bloggers
This past weekend, I spent my time camping in Cheddar with the Outdoor Bloggers group. While it was only a short drive from home (and not an area in which I would usually look to go camping), it was also my first time meeting anyone from the group.
Two years ago, I probably wouldn’t have done this, through fear and anxiety. But I’m pleased to say that I have been. I’m going to share some of the highlights with you now and I look forward to meeting up with them all again in 2020, if not sooner.
