Cleveland Way: My Daily Itinerary

Where I stayed and how far I walked for each of my 7 days following the 109 mile long Cleveland Way.

Last week, I completed a 109-mile journey along the Cleveland Way in Yorkshire. From the market town of Helmsley, across the North York Moors and then along the beautiful coastline of East Yorkshire, to the end point at Filey.

In this post, I’m going to share where I stayed and how far I walked each day. It may be useful for others (I was searching for this information beforehand) and in time, I’ll write about each day’s walking and experiences in detail.

South of Knighton: Glyndwr’s Way and Offa’s Dyke Path

A circular walk from Panpwnton Farm in Knighton. Following Glyndwr’s Way as far as Llanguno and then heading east to join Offa’s Dyke Path and following that back to the start.

Sunday 27th June 2021

This was my final full day on the Shropshire/Wales border. I awoke in my tent, feeling ready for an eighteen-mile outing. Towards the end, I’d be following a few more miles of Offa’s Dyke Path. Initially, I’d be joining Glyndwr’s Way (another National Trail) from Knighton. In between the two, I’d have to connect the lines.

Cleveland Way – Postponed Until 2021

Back in January, I set out some of my intentions for the year and one of the biggest was to take on the challenge of walking the Cleveland Way; a 106-mile long National Trail. But with Covid-19 having affected everyone in some way this summer, I’d made the decision to postpone my next long-distance walk until 2021.

In this post, I share my reasons why and talk about alternative plans for the rest of 2020.
