#walk1000miles – December 2017

A round-up of December’s mileage and final review of my #walk1000miles challenge in 2017.

If you’ve been following my progress with the #walk1000miles challenge this year, you’ll know that I already completed the challenge (by a single mile) at the end of November.

For me, the pressure was off during December. I was free to walk as few or as many miles as I would choose; every weekend or not.

YouTube Update – 19/12/2017

I’d like to try and make this style of post a regular feature of my blog. Perhaps once a month, I can produce a ‘YouTube Update’, detailing all that I’ve uploaded within the previous thirty days. I’m sure that not every reading this is already subscribed to Olly Outdoors… Some may prefer not to keep a Google account.

With several walks around Wales over the past couple of months, I’ve been quite busy on the uploading front and I’m very, very close to achieving my one-hundredth subscriber!

Exploring the Blackdown Hills

A walk in the Blackdown Hills; sat on the Devon/Somerset border and led by Brunel 20s & 30s Walking Group from Bristol.

Somewhere along the border between Somerset and North Devon, lies an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) known as the Blackdown Hills.

Driving up or down the M5, you’ve probably seen the Wellington Monument from afar. But this was the first time that many of us would actually walk in this area.

Big Black Mountains Hike (Part 1)

I’ve just spent a weekend in South Wales and I’ll be heading further west for the coming weekend.
