April was our first full month in Lockdown and, for the UK, it may prove to be our only month, if the speculation is to be believed right now. I’ve been ‘furloughed’ (off work and in receipt of 80% of my basic wage) all throughout but have managed to keep myself relatively active. Flat walks and short distances from my doorstep, where the hills are hard to find.

Kewstoke and Middle Hope
A North Somerset through Kewstoke, out to Middle Hope and crossing Sand Bay before returning.

Sand Bay and Sand Point are areas I’ll visit and explore every few months. I can drive there in less than thirty-minutes and, while they’re both within close proximity of Weston-super-Mud, you can guarantee these spaces will never be quite as busy – even on a busy day.
Most of my walks have started from the same two car parks. But I was intrigued enough to try a different route published in the first of three Walk West eBooks.
