Doorstep Walk: Sand Bay and Sand Point

Overnight, snow had fallen locally and in other parts of the UK that had not already been blanketed. Or so I read online.

My plans for the day didn’t change. I would walk out to Sand Point from home, once again. This time, I’d head clockwise around and take in Sand Bay before it could come close to getting busy again.

Doorstep Walk: Monk’s Steps

Sunday 17th January 2021

For my second Doorstep Walk in Lockdown 3.0, it was going to be hard for me to not tread on familiar ground from the previous weekend’s walk. I had thoughts about heading up to Weston Woods and I wanted to try and avoid becoming too familiar with Sand Point… So, I settled on the idea of taking in the Monk’s Steps.

Doorstep Walk: Sand Point

My first ‘Doorstep Walk’ of 2021; heading out to Sand Point from home, in what we refer to as Lockdown 3.0.

Sunday 10th January 2021

This was my first ‘Doorstep Walk’ of the year, with England having been set in to its third iteration of Lockdown, with the dawn of 2021. As hard as it appears sometimes, I do feel it’s very important to abide by the rules and to stay local to where you live.

I hope this post shows that, in my situation at least, it is possible to find a good amount of green space without travelling too far.

Why I Started Running

It was in May when I equipped myself with a pair of barefoot-style running shoes and decided to start heading out for short runs on a regular basis. At the time, we were still deep in a Lockdown situation and I was off work on furlough (although that wasn’t to last much longer).

I’ve had a quiet interest in the idea in running for a few years. Below, I’ll delve in to the reasons of why and now.
