In another effort to Stay Local, I drove a few miles to the village of Congresbury, with the idea of following a few footpaths around and alongside the River Yeo that I’d not walked before. Even when I used to live much closer.

Month in Review: February 2021

Where did February go?! I’m pleased that March has arrived and that the spring weather will soon be upon us. But I’m also a little bit sad to think that this “perfect” months (28 days, beginning on a Monday, ending on a Sunday) is now a thing of the past.

But, instead of sitting at home, watching Netflix and taking it easy; what I had in mind was to drive for precisely five miles (across Weston-super-Mare; the town I live in) and follow a fresh route for a local walk…

Doorstep Walk: Weston Woods

Another walk from my doorstep in Weston-super-Mare. Across the town of Worle, up to the woods on Worlebury Hill and then down towards the sad state of Birnbeck Pier.

I was feeling as though I’d exhausted my local jaunts out to Sand Bay and Sand Point. I was craving a change but, driving somewhere was still out of the question. I’d climbed and descending the Monk’s Steps but hadn’t, before this day, walked in to Weston Woods.
