On Saturday’s group walk in the Black Mountains [you’ll see photos from that, soon], I received a bit of interest in my Leki walking poles, on top of which I recently added the photo adapter attachment.

Baking Healthy, Energy-Bar Flapjacks

For the past year and possibly a bit longer (I cannot confidently remember), I’ve been baking and consuming home-made flapjacks on a regular basis. I eat them at work each day but bake them primarily to assist my energy levels when out hiking at the weekends.

It is with thanks to Dave that I came across a recipe from MBR.

However, I’ve made my own amendments to suit my shopping habits, which you’ll find below.

Knee-Deep on Crib Y Garth

My most ‘challenging’ walk-leading experience to date! Up on the Black Mountains of Wales, knee-deep in snow with winds of up to 40mph blasting us from the north-west.

Sunday 17th December 2017

Precisely one year to the date of when I first did this walk on my own, I’d arranged to lead the walking group around the same course, in the run-up to Christmas.

Heavy snow had breached the heights of South Wales one week earlier… My only concern that morning was the risk of icy roads and winds up to 40mph… All the snow would be gone by now, right?
