Ease Gill, Crag Hill and Gragareth

15/09/2020: My second walk from a week in the Yorkshire Dales. Crossing the border in to Lancashire, for a 13 mile walk around Crag Hill, Great Coum and Gragareth.

This would be my second walk in the Yorkshire Dales. Although it would first involve a twenty-minute car journey away from Ingleton and in to… Lancashire! However, I was still within the boundary of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Whernside from Philpin Farm

My first walk in the Yorkshire Dales as part of a five-day trip in September 2020. From the campsite at Philpin Farm, I would walk up to Whernside and then meet Ribblehead Viaduct.

Monday 14th September 2020

On my first morning in Yorkshire, I would head up to Whernside – the highest of Yorkshire’s Three Peaks – and setting off on foot from the campsite – only a short walk as the crow flies but with a good measure of ascent.

Wimbleball Lake and Haddon Hill

Details of a 9.5 mile walk around WImbleball Lake and Haddon Hill on Exmoor.

Tuesday 1st September 2020

I remember this as being a rather fortunate day of work, immediately after the August Bank Holiday weekend. As I worked on the Saturday, I gained the extra day in lieu, when I would otherwise have been returning to work. Not wanting to waste it, I drove down to Exmoor – barely one week since my previous visit to Dulverton – and would begin a circular walk from Wimbleball Lake.

Welcome to October! I can hardly believe it myself. Leaves are changing colour and beginning to fall. Some of us have already turned the heating on in our homes. With whatever lies ahead, I aim to continue walking.
