Cleveland Way – Postponed Until 2021

Back in January, I set out some of my intentions for the year and one of the biggest was to take on the challenge of walking the Cleveland Way; a 106-mile long National Trail. But with Covid-19 having affected everyone in some way this summer, I’d made the decision to postpone my next long-distance walk until 2021.

East Harptree Woods, Combe and Litton Reservoirs

Monday 13th July 2020

In my self-imposed efforts to ‘stay local’ with my walks this summer, I’ve sometimes felt as though I’m running short on new ideas when it comes to exploring the Mendip Hills. I’ll often end up revisiting the same old haunts; making slight alterations to familiar routes.

East Harptree is an area I’ll often drive past or close to but I hadn’t walked there in over a year.

Why I Started Running

It was in May when I equipped myself with a pair of barefoot-style running shoes and decided to start heading out for short runs on a regular basis. At the time, we were still deep in a Lockdown situation and I was off work on furlough (although that wasn’t to last much longer).

I’ve had a quiet interest in the idea in running for a few years. Below, I’ll delve in to the reasons of why and now.
