Monthly Miles: June 2020

I keep saying it and maybe I should stop… But this could’ve been the month in which I completed the Cleveland Way. We’ve all seen our plans halted due to the outbreak and, slowly, we are returning towards a form of normal life (although the government are keen to rush it, somewhat).

Throughout all the chaos, anger, fear and uncertainty, I’ve kept walking and continue to do so.

Wedmore Moor and Nyland Hill

My final walk in May was again set in Somerset. But where I have favoured higher ground for previous weeks, this time, I would head down to and across the Somerset Levels, following a guide Robin Tetlow, author of the excellent boot Beyond Bristol 2.

Lockdown Walk: Wick St. Lawrence

Sunday 5th April 2020

Another walk in Lockdown and this one took place ahead of the Sand Point walk I wrote about previously. Wick St. Lawrence is a small village and parish on the outskirts of Weston-super-Mare and a stone’s throw from where I currently live. I hadn’t explored all of the area and knew of a series of (potentially inaccessible) footpaths close that would be the feature of this morning’s outing.
