Already, the first month of 2019 lies behind us. With the arrival of February, much of the UK hasn’t been blanketed with snow, if it wasn’t covered already. Mercury has plummeted and hopefully, it won’t be long before it begins to rise again.

Going in to November, there was a chance that I would be able to break the one-thousand mile mark before the arrival of 2018’s final month… With an amount of time on my hands and a long-weekend trip to Dartmoor due, this opportunity was very strong indeed.

Summer is officially over and, with a definite chill added to each morning and evening, it’s certain to say that autumn has arrived. Daylight hours are slowly diminishing and it seems as though the end of another year is nigh.

If you’ve been following my progress with the #walk1000miles challenge this year, you’ll know that I already completed the challenge (by a single mile) at the end of November.
For me, the pressure was off during December. I was free to walk as few or as many miles as I would choose; every weekend or not.
