Washford Walk

A circular walk from Washford in West Somerset. Stepping in to Exmoor National Park on a rainy day.

Sunday 11th July 2021

It was forecast to be a wet day. I’d hope to have been able to spend it on Exmoor but, I wasn’t keen on driving as deep in to the heart of the National Park. South of Knighton: Glyndwr’s Way and Offa’s Dyke Path

A circular walk from Panpwnton Farm in Knighton. Following Glyndwr’s Way as far as Llanguno and then heading east to join Offa’s Dyke Path and following that back to the start.

A Long Walk to May Hill

An ambitious circular walk near the Forest of Dean, heading up to May Hill and following snippets of the Gloucestershire Way.

Thursday 24th June 2021

I was on the road and heading up to Shropshire for a long weekend away – my first “holiday” (I refuse to use that term) since September, when I went all the way to Yorkshire for a week. I’d decided to stop off close to the Forest of Dean… To be honest, I wasn’t quite sure whether I was in Herefordshire, Gloucestershire or Monmouthshire at any particular point… But my goal was to head for May Hill.
