SWCP: Porlock Weir to Lynton

She’s hate me for saying this but it had been four-years since Anna and I started our walk of the ‘Somerset Coast Path’ in the centre of Bristol. Officially, it is not a trail but does follow the coastline of Somerset as close as is legally practicable.

One walk remained. Picking up from where we left off in 2016, we’d be walking from Porlock Weir to Lynton along the South West Coast Path.

South Downs Way: Day Six

Somehow, I’d survived the night. With my shoes and waterproofs still damp from the previous afternoon, the morning of my final day had arrived. After an almost-sleepless night, in which I didn’t boil any water to prepare a meal. I endured. I’d survived. I’d made it this far and I was now around ten-miles away from Eastbourne, with the prospect of a stunning coastal walk to follow.

#walk1000miles: February 2019

February was a month that began with a sudden cold snap, carpeting much of the UK (including the often-untouched south-west) with several inches of snow. A short month on any calendar. I’m still surprised it has come and gone so quickly.
