Vale of Berkeley

On my return route to Oldbury-on-Severn in Gloucestershire, I explored the Vale of Berkeley and its deer park.

Having followed the Severn Way north as far as Berkeley Nuclear Power Station, I turned inland towards the village of Ham, in the beginning of the return journey to my car in Oldbury-on-Severn.

Malvern Hills – July 2017

Sunday 23rd July 2017

Almost one year before this walk, I embarked (solo) on my first ever adventure in the Malvern Hills of Worcestershire. On that day of sixteen-miles, I conquered all of the peaks in the southern half of the hill range.

But it wasn’t until this walk (led by Jenny of Brunel 20s and 30s) that I would finally climb Worcestershire Beacon; the highest point along this ridge.

Rural Dolgellau

A five-mile walk from the camp site near Dolgellau in Mid Wales (May 2017).

Saturday 27th May 2017

My first full day in Mid Wales; the morning after our arrival. Some didn’t turn up or even pitch their tents until close to midnight!

We awoke to the sound and chill of rain British Weather. Two walks were happening at the same time; both with early starts. Everyone was moving, I just wanted to slow down and breathe for a bit… So, I ended up spending the day intentionally alone.
