Back From Dolgellau

I arrived home at about 20.10 last night, having spent the previous three evenings sleeping in a tent to the south of Snowdonia in mid Wales.

My first trip away with and experience of camping with a walking group. Previously, I’d only been camping with one friend at a time. It’s passed by very quickly and there are many things I could reflect on.

White Horse Trail – Walk 2 of 7 (Part 1)

Bank Holiday Monday 17th April 2017

This was the second walk in what will become a series of seven, enabling the completion of Wiltshire’s White Horse Trail.

I wasn’t able to attend this as an organised group event, due to a clash with Mother’s Day. A couple of weeks later, I set off for Wiltshire on my own, during the Easter Bank Holiday Monday.

Finding Bluebells

Wednesday 26th April 2017

It was in May last year that I discovered a pristine path of bluebells only a thirty-minute walk (uphill) from my front door.

Shared with the opinion of a friend, I’m convinced that bluebells have arrived early this year. More concerningly, they’ve already ‘peaked’ (at least, in my opinion).

I took the opportunity to spend some time there in an evening last week. There’s even a video I produced for YouTube and I’ll include a link to that at the bottom of this post.

#walk1000miles – April 2017

It’s May already. Four whole months are now behind us. Time appears to be ticking more quickly as each year passes.

April has been a great month for me personally. I’ve attended a number of group walks, including two that I’ve led; I’ve done walks with friends, some challenging treks on my own and I know it has been a record-breaking month for me personally.
