I emerged from my tent on this morning, with a view of an almighty Skiddaw beyond the dry-stone wall. Blue sky for the most part, sun already shining. A youth hostel with all facilities behind me. This was going to be a good start to my penultimate following this trail.

After a single shower of rain in the evening, I was ready to depart Chapel House Farm the next morning. A decent night’s camping and a site I’d happily return to another time. Perhaps when one day following the Coast to Coast Path.

Walking the Cumbria Way: Day 2

It’s been almost a year now since I completed the Cumbria Way and I’m keen to finish my write up on this, while also recounting other walks I’ve completed since. In short: I’ve missed blogging and had never intended to leave things this long.

This is actually my second attempt at writing this post today; having accidentally deleted this morning’s completed work, at the point of publishing!

Cleveland Way: Day 3

Beak Hills to ‘Wild Camp’ (21 miles)

Tuesday 14th September 2021

After two nights of camping across the North York Moors, I was really starting to settle in to my walk along the Cleveland Way. This third day would be my longest of the week and by the end of it, I’d almost be clear of the moorland section and ready to step on to the coastline in Day 4.

Oh and, unless something would change suddenly, I’d be wild camping at the end of it! In an area I’d not visited before.
