South of Knighton: Glyndwr’s Way and Offa’s Dyke Path

A circular walk from Panpwnton Farm in Knighton. Following Glyndwr’s Way as far as Llanguno and then heading east to join Offa’s Dyke Path and following that back to the start.

Sunday 27th June 2021

This was my final full day on the Shropshire/Wales border. I awoke in my tent, feeling ready for an eighteen-mile outing. Towards the end, I’d be following a few more miles of Offa’s Dyke Path. Initially, I’d be joining Glyndwr’s Way (another National Trail) from Knighton. In between the two, I’d have to connect the lines.

An ambitious circular walk near the Forest of Dean, heading up to May Hill and following snippets of the Gloucestershire Way.

Thursday 24th June 2021

I was on the road and heading up to Shropshire for a long weekend away – my first “holiday” (I refuse to use that term) since September, when I went all the way to Yorkshire for a week. Walking the Castles and Coast Way

Walking the 13 mile long Castles and Coast Way in West Somerset. A new circular footpath, created in 2019.

Monday 3rd May 2021

This was the first weekend in May where I had the idea of driving down to Exmoor for a full day’s walking. But the weather forecast looked grim – and it has barely improved as the weeks have passed. I was sizing up the Quantock Hills, when I spotted the Castles and Coast Way marked on the latest OS Map.

It was time to explore this thirteen-mile long Way, walking between the Quantock Hills and the West Somerset coast.

“Inglebugger”

A 15 mile walk in the Yorkshire Dales. Up, over and around Ingleborough – TWICE – in one day!

Wedndesday 16th September 2020

This was the one walk and mountain I’d most been looking forward to during my Yorkshire Dales trip. Another that I could approach directly from the campsite. No need to step in to my car (although it was a useful space in which to store muddy boots and keep the tent relatively clean).
