Knighton and Knucklas (Offa’s Dyke Path)

It was time to leave the car alone for a couple of days. I quite enjoy being able to do this; setting off from the campsite and returning on foot, later that day. In this walk, I’d begin by following Offas Dyke Path several miles to the north, before leaving that National Trail and looping back along a variety of footpaths and bridleways.

Pondering A New Tent

Having just spent a long weekend living the life of a campsite, I’ve found myself pondering about one or two new purchases. I’ve already sorted a new sleeping mat and pillow. But I was looking at buying a new tent ahead of the trip. So, I thought I’d put some current thoughts down on paper. Or screen!

Plans for 2021?

Identifying achieveable plans for the remainder of 2021, post-lockdown.

By the time you read this, England should be free from the shackles of its third Lockdown. Some restrictions will remain. But we’ll also have slightly more freedom to meet with others and explore. I feel as though planning (dare I say it) for the rest of the year may be a feasible thought.

In January, I wrote of my Intentions for 2021 and I recently made a YouTube video talking briefly of my three ideas. This will be a more refined edition of the other post and I’ve narrowed it down to three particular goals.

Whernside from Philpin Farm

My first walk in the Yorkshire Dales as part of a five-day trip in September 2020. From the campsite at Philpin Farm, I would walk up to Whernside and then meet Ribblehead Viaduct.

Monday 14th September 2020

On my first morning in Yorkshire, I would head up to Whernside – the highest of Yorkshire’s Three Peaks – and setting off on foot from the campsite – only a short walk as the crow flies but with a good measure of ascent.
