Gloucester to Quedgeley on the Towpath

Saturday 24th November 2018

Only three weeks after my previous stint along the Severn Way long-distance footpath, I returned to Gloucestershire for a walk that would cut through its sole city.

In this post, I’m going to write about my walk along the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal, with the Severn Way update to follow separately. This is because I parked near the city centre and used the towpath as a means of plotting a circular route for the day.

#walk1000miles – November 2018

Going in to November, there was a chance that I would be able to break the one-thousand mile mark before the arrival of 2018’s final month… With an amount of time on my hands and a long-weekend trip to Dartmoor due, this opportunity was very strong indeed.

Selworthy Circular

This was the most recent walk I’ve led for Brunel Walking Group. It may even be the last one I lead for 2018. I reckon I’ve now done six or seven this year.

For me personally, this was a return to the coastal side of northern Exmoor that I’d not seen for a couple of years. I didn’t fancy driving down and having to fare the expense of fuel alone. So, I decided to take the group and without having recently pre-walked the route!
