Completing the Snowdon Horseshoe

This was my third visit to Snowdonia and, at long last, I had made it to the summit of Snowdon – the highest peak in Wales – at the first attempt of trying.

Having overcome the intimidation of Crib Goch, we would now have to brave the likely hoard of “tourists” huddled around the trig point and this mountain’s other… Attractions.

Exploring the Glyders

According to my memory, it took us a good three hours to climb up and over Tryfan from the A5. A remarkable statistic, considering the direct journey to the top measures only half a mile or so.

We weren’t about to make an immediate return to the car, though. Onward, we strode towards the Glyderau.

Walking The Ridgeway: Day 3

Waking up in the youth hostel of Streatley-on-Thames, I was downstairs in the restaurant at 8am (a time arranged the evening before) and ready for the full-English breakfast that would fuel me on for another fifteen miles of following The Ridgeway National Trail.
