Revisiting a guided walk around Lansdown near Bath, which I hadn’t followed since 2014. Would all public rights of way remain open and accessible?

My first walk of the month that was October would see me return to Lansdown, an area that lies to the north-west of Bath. It was probably more than three-years since I last did this exact walk and, back then, I was leading a group of more than a dozen people.

This is probably one of the first routes I followed from the Walk West series of eBooks and it’s a walk that I’d been meaning to return to for some time. A vision of road walking had stuck in my mind, along with ambition, I guess, to walk in a wide variety of places; near and far from home.

Shipham and Sandford, Somerset

I remember this weekend; a sense of urgency to walk, met with indecision on where to go and a reluctance to travel far from home!

There must’ve been a shortage of walks on the group’s program as well. Because I did end up staying close to home and my walk began following a short drive down the A38 and in to Shipham.

Exploring the Blackdown Hills

A walk in the Blackdown Hills; sat on the Devon/Somerset border and led by Brunel 20s & 30s Walking Group from Bristol.

Somewhere along the border between Somerset and North Devon, lies an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) known as the Blackdown Hills.

Driving up or down the M5, you’ve probably seen the Wellington Monument from afar. But this was the first time that many of us would actually walk in this area.

#walk1000miles: November 2017

#walk1000miles 2017: I’ve done it!! With an entire month to spare! 😀

I’ve done it! As of last night, I’ve officially completed my #walk1000miles challenge and with one whole month to spare!

On the Wales Coast Path, last month.

At the end of October, I had 922.25 miles in the bag. Let’s take a look at how November 2017 went.
