it’s been more than a month now, since I purchased the Lowe Alpine Aeon 27 backpack. Some may say I have too many backpacks (and, this may be true…) but I was keen on this purchase due to its low weight and I saw it as an ideal accessory for summer hiking when I may not need all of those extra thermal layers.

Six-months of the year; gone and never to be reclaimed or repeated. Six-months to go. A half-year of opportunity.
Sugar Loaf and Crug Mawr
Sunday 13th May 2018
This was a ‘Joint Walk’ from Brunel Walking Group, where both age groups (20s & 30s and 40+) are encouraged to come along. It was also graded as a ‘3 Boot’ walk, which is the most challenging in our system of walk grading.
I climbed both Sugar Loaf and Crug Mawr on my own in 2017 but I fancied doing this walk as it had been a while and the weather forecast was in our favour.
Return to Exmoor (May 2018)
Bank Holiday Monday 7th May 2018
It has been over eighteen-months since my previous visit to Exmoor; an almost equally strenuous walk that climbed to the highest point, Dunkery Beacon. At the beginning of 2017, I’d vowed to make a greater effort to explore more of Exmoor… Other intentions must’ve interrupted this ambition.
